Psychiatrist
MY PRACTICE AND APPROACH
I practice by engaging people in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. This treatment is a talking therapy based on creating a space for you to be heard and to be listened to in a particular way, with the aim of exploring your symptoms or difficulties in a manner that then helps you to make changes or arrive at a new position in your life. Typically i meet with patients for a series of initial sessions to determine if we should work together, with any commitment to therapy thereafter being a mutual process. The frequency of sessions when in therapy is determined on a case by case basis.

I’m a general adult psychiatrist with an interest in the relationship between the body and mind, as well as medically unexplained symptoms. I also have an interest in working with people who experience psychosis.
I am comfortable in working with a wide range of psychiatric problems including mood problems, anxiety, obsessional experiences, relational issues and existential distress.
My preferred age range is people 16 years old and over.
When working with patients I manage psychiatric medications in only a limited number of circumstances. I have a cautious approach to psychoactive medications.
